Overview

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, with precision and care.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations to determine treatment needs.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and digital radiography systems while maintaining safety protocols.
Assist with chairside procedures during general dentistry and pediatric dentistry treatments, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix accurately for documentation review, treatment notes, and medical records compliance.
Uphold strict infection prevention management by following aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health assessments.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing patient care tailored to children’s needs.
Proficiency in using EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management.
Expertise in infection control protocols, healthcare infection prevention, and control measures within a dental setting.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental health.
Prior experience with dental x-ray procedures (X-ray) and maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
