Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant Pediatric Dentist office! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) - Open Dental knowledge is a plus!
Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments, in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred
Proficiency with EHR systems such as Open Dental for documentation review and management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation
Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate pediatric age groups
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality
Familiarity with dental coding related to dental procedures is a plus
