Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care within a professional, patient-centered environment. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in delivering preventive dental services, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced dental technology and contribute to improving patients' health outcomes through comprehensive care.
It is a part time position, days negotiable (1-2 days per week.)
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
Maintain infection prevention standards by following strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor and maintain dental equipment, ensuring proper functioning and sterilization between patient visits.
Experience
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) management systems such as Eaglesoft.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, fostering trust and comfort during visits.
Demonstrated competence in chairside assisting, patient care management, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
