Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist in NW Austin, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our modern dental practice. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis
Assess patient health by monitoring vital signs and reviewing medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR). Experience with Open Dental is a plus.
Ensure infection prevention protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with a focus on patient care and education
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation
Skilled in chairside assisting, including taking vital signs, medical assessments, and medical imaging procedures
Familiarity with infection control standards, healthcare regulations (HIPAA), and maintaining patient confidentiality
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics
