Job Description
Overview
Our family owned practice is looking for a charismatic and friendly hygienist who will join our team! One of our long term hygienists is leaving on her maternity leave for 7 months so we need someone willing to join our team and see those patients, as well as possibly stay longer and transition into a full time role. This position can either be a part time or full time position, depending on the right candidate's wishes.
Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm. Hygienists can be expected to get 38-40 hours a week if desired
We are a fee for service office who takes pride in knowing all of our patients and we see patients every 60-90 minutes depending on the treatment provided, sometimes longer
We have several bonus systems in place that are highly competitive that we would love to share over the phone and in person with serious candidates.
Benefits will depend whether the candidate is full time or part time and we are happy to discuss everything
Duties
Be very friendly - our patients LOVE to chat!
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, following best practices in infection prevention management.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental x-rays to inform personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while maintaining strict aseptic technique and adhering to radiation safety protocols.
Maintain dental equipment, sterilization processes, and infection control standards in accordance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure seamless patient flow and exceptional care delivery in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings.
Skills
Proficiency in Dentrix for efficient documentation management.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on dental care and foster trust.
Deep understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization protocols.
Ability to accurately measure vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; familiarity with medical imaging is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Pay: $48.00 - $62.00 per hour
