Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote healthy smiles.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance long-term health outcomes.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental cleanings and radiographs.
Proven experience in general dentistry and familiarity with pediatric dentistry is highly preferred.
Proficiency in EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care practices.
Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment confidently.
