Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist at Destination Dental. Become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. We are looking for a motivated professional with a passion for promoting healthy smiles and a keen eye for detail to elevate our patient experience. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies
Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EMR systems like Open Dental
Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques, sterilization, and proper disposal of contaminated materials
Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to dental terminology standards
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment
Local Anesthesia Permit highly suggested
Graduates from US based Dental Hygiene programs will be given preference
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding procedures
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental is highly preferred
Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and their unique needs
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of medical records
Ability to perform medical imaging procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety
