Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! This is a PRIVATE OFFICE, this will never be a corporate office setting. We value our patients, our relationship with them, and ethical patient-specific dentistry.
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, SRPs, assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your expertise in dental hygiene practices, infection control, and patient communication will help promote optimal oral health outcomes. This position offers flexible hours and an opportunity to work in a friendly, professional environment committed to excellence in dental care.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment while maintaining proper infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants or fluoride treatments and supporting general dentistry services.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring documentation review and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Adhere to infection prevention management standards by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining dental equipment cleanliness.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations, including patient care coordination and documentation review.
Help recognize dental problems, take photographs of problem areas, and bring them to the patient's attention so that the doctor can discuss, diagnose, and prescribe treatment with the patient.
Qualifications
Valid Florida state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental hygiene, preferably within a general or periodontal dentistry setting with a minimum of 1 year experience
Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. (Prefer Eaglesoft)
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
Excellent patient communication skills with a focus on education and building rapport.
Knowledge of infection control protocols, healthcare regulations (HIPAA), and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to perform vital signs assessment, X-ray procedures, and medical record documentation accurately.
Ability to administer anesthetic is preferred, but not required.
