Registered Dental Hygienist (Part-Time or Full-Time) Periodontics

Job Overview
Dorion Dental Specialist is a patient-centered, non-corporate dental practice in the heart of Cary, and we’re excited to welcome a skilled, compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to our growing team. We’re looking to add either a part-time or full-time hygienist for periodontal practice.

This is a practice where patients come first, schedules are realistic, and the team truly enjoys working together. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support overall practice operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a patient-focused environment with a team committed to maintaining the highest standards of oral health. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and familiarity with dental software systems.

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using advanced imaging equipment
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in EMR systems such as Denticon
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
Support patient care by providing compassionate service in pediatric dentistry settings when needed
Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
Collaborate with the dental team to optimize workflow and patient experience
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Denticon
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management
Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments preferred
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
