Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and infection control. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and the ability to work collaboratively with the dental team. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:45 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays 8:45 AM -3:00 PM.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients.
Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Administer local anesthesia as needed under the supervision of a dentist.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in the management of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within the clinic.
Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient scheduling, charting, and record management.
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills
Proficient in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques.
Experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred.
Knowledge of four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and provide tailored oral health education.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
Proficient in using Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software.
