Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities & Duties
Be a team player
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations
Assist the dentist during exams
Take medical imaging such as X-rays and photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable
Review and update medical records accurately in Dentrix
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments
Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping and medical coding
Strong knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment utilizing skills in chairside assisting and dental assisting techniques
