Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments to promote oral health.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care to foster lifelong healthy habits.

Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort during treatments.

Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records responsibly.

Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.

Experience with pediatric dentistry, including providing care for pediatric patients with patience and sensitivity.

Skilled in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and medical imaging procedures.

Ability to perform patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and documentation review accurately.

Familiarity with general dentistry procedures and the ability to communicate effectively with team members about treatment plans.
