Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our private family dental practice. We are NOT a DSO, and we treat each member of our team and our patients like family. We offer 1 hour per cleaning and have high-tech equipment such as a CBCT, scanner, and more. We offer flexible hours- even if you can just offer a few days a week or if you're looking for something full time, please send your resume to om.blairstownsmilestudio@gmail.com to schedule a meeting!
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, supporting the dentist as needed.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records appropriately.
Manage dental equipment maintenance, sterilization processes, and inventory control to ensure operational efficiency.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care in a friendly, professional manner.
Skills
Proficiency in dentrix preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children is highly desirable.
Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during patient treatments.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment accurately while ensuring patient safety.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, including sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with medical coding practices related to dental procedures for accurate documentation.
Understanding of HIPAA compliance management to uphold privacy standards within the practice environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental office setting while maintaining attention to detail.
