Job Description
$55–$65 per hour | Flexible 6-hour shifts | Single-column hygiene
Are you a dental hygienist who wants enough time to provide excellent care—not simply move from one cleaning to the next?
Gresham Advanced Dentistry is hiring a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join a close-knit hygiene department that values clinical excellence, collaboration, and continued learning.
Our hygienists generally see only four to six patients per day. We provide longer appointment times because we expect thorough care, meaningful patient education, accurate periodontal assessment, and strong documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist who wants to practice beyond the basics and continue developing skills in advanced preventive, periodontal, and wellness-based care.
Compensation
$55–$65 per hour, based on experience and clinical readiness
Eligibility for an office-wide bonus
Eligibility for a hygiene-department bonus
Full-time benefits for employees working 30 or more hours per week
The $65 hourly rate is our maximum base rate. Bonus opportunities provide additional earning potential beyond the hourly wage.
Full-Time Benefits
Health insurance
Retirement plan with employer match
Paid time off
Paid sick time
Holiday pay
Continuing education benefits
Uniform allowance
In-house dental care
Office-wide bonus eligibility
Hygiene-specific bonus eligibility
Build a Schedule That Works for You
Instead of hiring for one rigid schedule, we allow our hygienists to choose a consistent combination of available shifts:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Monday–Friday: 1:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
To maintain fair coverage and provide access for patients who need later appointments, at least 50% of your selected shifts must be afternoon/evening or Saturday shifts. Saturday counts as an evening-coverage shift for scheduling purposes.
We are willing to discuss different combinations of shifts with the right candidate.
Your Typical Patient Schedule
Our schedule is intentionally designed to give hygienists time to provide complete care:
Approximately 4-6 patients per day
60-minute adult recall appointments
30 to 60-minute pediatric appointments
Approximately two hours for new-patient hygiene appointments
90–120 minutes for scaling and root planing
Single-column scheduling
No assisted hygiene
What You Will Do
Provide preventive and periodontal care based on each patient’s needs
Complete periodontal charting and clinical assessments
Identify periodontal conditions and confidently discuss findings with patients
Take diagnostic-quality radiographs
Administer local anesthetic
Educate patients about periodontal health, caries risk, home care, and recommended treatment
Communicate clinical findings clearly with the doctors and dental team
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Turn over and prepare your operatory between patients
Participate in department training, calibration, and continued clinical development
Follow established clinical systems while contributing thoughtful feedback and ideas
Advanced Training and Technology
You do not need to arrive already knowing every system or technology we use. Our hygiene leadership team can provide training in areas such as:
iTero scanning
Guided biofilm therapy and air polishing
Salivary testing
Caries-risk assessment and prevention
CariFree and other preventive-care products
Advanced patient education
Wellness-focused hygiene care
Our practice’s periodontal assessment and treatment philosophy
We are looking for someone who has strong foundational hygiene skills and is excited to continue learning.
Required Qualifications
Current Oregon dental hygiene license or eligibility to obtain one
Current local-anesthesia endorsement
Confidence taking dental radiographs
Ability to recognize and communicate periodontal findings
Strong patient-education and communication skills
Commitment to infection-control and documentation standards
Willingness to work a schedule in which at least 50% of shifts are weekday afternoons/evenings or Saturdays
New graduates and experienced hygienists are welcome to apply. Previous experience with our advanced services is not required.
Who Thrives Here
The strongest fit will be a hygienist who:
Wants to continue growing clinically
Enjoys working collaboratively with other hygienists
Is receptive to coaching, feedback, and department calibration
Communicates concerns rather than allowing them to build
Values consistency while remaining adaptable
Takes ownership of the patient experience
Wants to provide comprehensive care rather than complete only the minimum required services
Supports the team during busy or changing situations
Our practice operates around four core values:
Communicate & Collaborate
We communicate directly, respectfully, and with the goal of helping the entire team succeed.
Do the Right Thing
We make recommendations based on what is best for the patient.
Adapt & Thrive
We remain open to new systems, technology, feedback, and opportunities to improve.
Excellence in Execution
We follow through, pay attention to details, and take pride in delivering excellent care.
Why Our Hygienists Stay
Our hygiene team has built a strong working relationship and a shared clinical philosophy. Hygienists collaborate, learn from one another, and work toward consistent standards of care.
This is not an office where hygiene is viewed as a series of routine cleanings. We are developing a more advanced, wellness-based model that includes periodontal care, caries prevention, patient education, technology, and individualized recommendations.
You will have the opportunity to grow your skills while working with a team that is invested in the success of the hygiene department.
Hiring Process
We are hiring as soon as possible. Qualified candidates will complete:
A brief application pre-screen
An in-person interview
A working interview
A final hiring decision
Please apply with your current résumé and include the days and shifts you would ideally like to work.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k)
401(k) matching
Flexible schedule
Health insurance
Paid time off
Work Location: In person
