Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding and compliance.

Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency and patient comfort.

Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting all treatments, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.

Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.

Laser certification is a plus.

Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and equipment operation.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medical records management to accurately document patient care.

Skilled in using EHR systems such as Dentrix Ascend for documentation review and medical coding purposes.

Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.

Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.

Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient education, care delivery, and building trustful relationships.
