Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral healthcare and patient education. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough removal of plaque and tartar.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to inform treatment planning.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, digital system (Open Dental) and other clinical tools with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, including handling instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining a sterile environment following infection prevention protocols.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), document treatment details accurately, review medical coding for billing purposes, and ensure HIPAA compliance by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Support infection control measures by following aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and procedures.
Strong knowledge of dental x-ray techniques, including digital radiography (X-ray), with experience using Open Dental software preferred.
Familiarity with family dentistry practices and providing care for pediatric and adult patients is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about dental care and foster positive relationships.
Ability to perform patient assessments such as vital signs measurement and medical history review accurately.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) management systems and medical coding for billing purposes.
Commitment to HIPAA compliance standards by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
