Job Description
Job Summary
We are a busy, high-performing dental practice seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis (4 days/week).
What We're Looking For:
We're searching for a hygienist who is confident, personable, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of Soft Tissue Management protocols
Experience using soft tissue lasers (Laser Certification preferred)
Excellent chairside manner and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in:
Taking digital X-rays
Performing periodontal charting
Capturing intraoral images and iTero scans
Presenting and explaining comprehensive periodontal care to patients
Practice Highlights:
Diverse patient base (PPO & cash)
Manageable schedule: 8 patients per day
Collaboration with an in-house Periodontist for advanced perio treatment
Opportunity to discuss and incorporate Invisalign/Ortho as part of oral hygiene care
Qualifications:
Active California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
Laser Certified
Current BLS/CPR certification

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Assess patients’ vital signs and medical history to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health
Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during treatments such as sealants, fluoride applications, and other preventive services
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures
Proven experience in general dentistry settings with a strong focus on patient care and education
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix for documentation and scheduling management
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical records management, and healthcare infection prevention standards
Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, explaining procedures clearly, and fostering trust with patients of all ages including pediatrics
Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices
