Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive oral health care, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure a positive patient experience while promoting optimal dental health through preventive care and patient education. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using digital or traditional techniques, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice to promote long-term dental health.
Review and document medical records, dental charts, and treatment plans accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Maintain infection control standards by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
Monitor patient vital signs before procedures to ensure safety during treatments involving sedation or anesthesia.
Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques suitable for children and ensuring a friendly, comforting environment for young patients.
Manage documentation review, medical coding, and billing processes related to dental procedures for accurate recordkeeping.Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and documentation management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care tailored to children’s needs.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with expertise in infection control protocols within a dental clinic setting.
Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy throughout their visit.
