Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to individual needs.
Assist with dental procedures such as restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Document all patient interactions accurately within Dentrix, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
Take and interpret dental radiographs, ensuring quality images for diagnosis.
Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Skills
Proficiency in using Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and clinical best practices across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties.
Ability to assess patient needs effectively through clinical evaluation and vital signs measurement.
Excellent communication skills with the dental receptionist or front desk team member to coordinate patient flow smoothly.
Experience working within dental office environments with a focus on medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
