Job Overview
At Chaffin Dental Care, we are a patient centric practice, focused on providing excellent care for our patients. We offer bacterial testing, laser disinfection, LANAP, and focusing on the latest best proven practices to help fight the periodontitis epidemic. We strive for clinical excellence and superior patient care. Several patient amenities are available for fearful patients, including IV and nonIV sedation.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety.
Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor overall health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix, documenting treatment plans, medical histories, and clinical notes.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
Proven experience in general dentistry, with strong knowledge of dental terminology and equipment.
Proficiency in Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
Expertise in infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention measures and sterilization techniques.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining high standards of radiation safety.
