Job Description

We are a growing, patient-centered private dental practice looking for an exceptional Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. We believe great dentistry begins with building relationships, educating patients, and delivering the highest standard of clinical care.

What You'll Do:
Clinical Excellence
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene examinations
Review medical and dental histories
Obtain and document vital signs
Complete periodontal charting and comprehensive periodontal assessments
Evaluate TMJ and oral conditions
Conduct caries risk assessments
Capture high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photographs
Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and gross debridement
Apply fluoride treatments, desensitizing agents, and sealants
Administer local anesthesia
Monitor nitrous oxide sedation
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and chart notes
Patient Education
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques
Provide individualized home care instructions
Explain periodontal diagnoses and treatment recommendations
Recommend appropriate continuing care intervals
Promote long-term preventive care
Collaboration
Communicate clinical findings to the dentist
Identify restorative treatment needs
Coordinate same-day treatment opportunities
Participate in daily morning huddles
Review daily schedules to maximize patient care and efficiency
Support practice production and scheduling goals
Assist with patient recall and continuing care efforts
Quality & Compliance
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and infection control protocols
Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization
Perform instrument quality inspections
Report equipment concerns promptly
Help maintain hygiene inventory and supplies
Participate in continuing education and team training
Support quality improvement initiatives throughout the practice
Qualifications
Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
Current local anesthesia certification
CPR/BLS Certification
Excellent periodontal assessment skills
Strong communication and patient education abilities
Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Team-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Open Dental software
Experience with intraoral scanners and digital imaging
Knowledge of periodontal therapy protocols
Experience presenting treatment recommendations
Private practice experience preferred
