Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional preventive dental care, patient education, and support to ensure optimal oral health for our diverse patient community. Your expertise will help foster a positive, comfortable environment where patients feel valued and confident in their dental experience. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
Assess patient vital signs and medical history to identify any health concerns that may impact dental treatment
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health
Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. As needed.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (Dentrix Ascend), documenting treatments, assessments, and medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Ensure infection prevention protocols are strictly followed by managing sterilization processes and maintaining aseptic techniques across all dental equipment and treatment areas
Skills
Proficiency in using dental software, Dentrix Ascend for scheduling, documentation review, and record management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatric dentistry
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting
Expertise in infection control practices, healthcare infection prevention, and control management to ensure patient safety
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively and address their concerns confidently
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records efficiently
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate documentation and billing purposes
Hours
Tuesday 8:30am to 5:00pm
Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm
Friday 8:30am to 1:00pm
45 minute unpaid lunch.
