Job Description
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) California Dental Wellness Center — Sunnyvale, CA
Pay: Starting at $78.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm
If corporate dentistry has worn you down, keep reading.
If you're tired of double-booked columns, six-minute patient interactions, and being treated like a pair of hands instead of a clinician — this isn't that. This isn't a typical dental job, and you're probably not a typical RDH.
You understand that dentistry is about more than procedures. You're the kind of person who actually listens to patients, notices what they're not saying, and knows how to make someone feel genuinely cared for, not just treated. Most practices never tap into that. They just need you to scale, chart, and turn over rooms.
Here, the pace is built around connection, not around the clock. You'll have room to actually talk with patients, not just move them through. And if what you're looking for is growth, stability, and a team that communicates well instead of guessing what's expected of you, that's exactly what we've built.
About California Dental Wellness Center
We're a dental office in Sunnyvale that works closely with functional medicine providers, and most of our patients come to us by referral. That means our patients arrive informed, invested, and looking for a level of care most practices can't offer. Our team rises to meet that.
We work with advanced diagnostics and protocols including CBCT, Trios, PRF, guided biofilm therapy, salivary microbiome testing, and dental sleep medicine. Our patients are on real wellness journeys and they need clinicians who can hold that conversation, not just complete a procedure.
We're small, intentional, and proud of the culture we've built. We show up for each other, we hold a high standard, and we actually enjoy coming to work. One doctor, private practice — no corporate, no revolving door.
Who Thrives Here
The person who's a great fit:
Has clinical depth and knows how to use it. You bring genuine curiosity and comprehension to every patient interaction. You don't just clean teeth — you educate.
Connects naturally with patients. Our patients are often on meaningful wellness journeys. Your warmth and ability to make people feel safe matters as much as your technique.
Takes initiative. You notice what needs to happen and you take care of it, not because you were asked, but because that's just who you are.
Is curious about biological dentistry. We love team members who want to grow alongside the practice. There is always more to learn here, and we invest in that.
Brings calm and confidence to the chair. Patients trust us deeply, and that trust starts with you.
What You'll Do
Comprehensive periodontal therapy, scaling and root planing, and guided biofilm therapy
Own patient education conversations — periodontal status, oral-systemic connections, home care protocols
Support our salivary diagnostics and dental sleep medicine workflow, including patient coordination and follow-up
Digital imaging, periodontal charting, and accurate clinical documentation
Partner with the doctor on treatment planning and case presentation from a hygiene lens
Collaborate with our treatment coordinator and front team to keep the day flowing smoothly
Requirements
Active California RDH license, required
Minimum 2 years of clinical hygiene experience, required
Clinical comprehension beyond routine prophylaxis, strongly preferred
Comfort with dental software and digital imaging (we'll train the right person)
Strong attention to detail and genuine love of patient communication
The Role
