Registered Dental Hygienist

We are looking for a passionate and positve Dental Hygienist to join our growing practice! Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll aid our dentists in deciding treatments that will help our patients achieve a lifetime of good oral health. We're looking for a reliable hygienist who values teamwork and will build trust with patients of all ages. You should have indepth knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a strong desire to provide patients with the highest quality care that will exceed their expectations.

Responsibilities
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible during all procedures
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care
Give instructions to patients after dental procedures
Take X-rays (including Panorex and 3D images)
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies
Skills
Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Valid Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid License to administer Local anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide
Valid license to practice Dental Hygiene in South Dakota
