Registered Dental Hygienist

Our privately-owned, state-of-the-art general dentistry practice is looking for a talented, competent, and ambitious registered dental hygienist (RDH) to join our amazing team. This is a part-time position with future potential for full-time employment.

We are seeking someone who is well-organized with great attention to details. As a clinical provider, you are expected to be a role model who assumes responsibility for keeping operations smooth and efficient. We have an excellent administrative team to handle non-clinical issues and very competent dental assistants to provide clinical support.

The ideal professional must:
Be a team player.

Have experience with the range of dental hygiene procedures.

Have outstanding chairside manner and provide excellent clinical oral hygiene services, including periodontal charting, dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, sealant application, fluoride application, localized antibiotic placement, oral irrigation, and other hygiene services within the scope of the RDH license in Washington, DC.

Be proficient with taking digital dental x-rays.

Have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Possess the ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Have critical thinking skills and the ability to find solutions to challenges.

Take ownership of daily tasks and approach each day with determination and confidence.

Be punctual and be able to manage time.

Have a strong desire to work with a diverse patient population of all ages.

Be computer savvy – previous experience with Dentrix is a plus!

Have a desire for continuous learning.

Be passionate about providing the highest quality of care and take pride in the patient experience.

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with the Dentist to manage the oral health of patients of Solstice Smiles Dental PLLC.

Obtaining oral hygiene assessment data and recording patients’ information in their electronic chart to accurately reflect the nature of their oral health needs.

Providing oral health education and clinical oral hygiene services.

Greeting, seating, and dismissing patients with utmost professionalism.

Cleaning/turning over treatment operatory in between patients.

Sterilizing instruments throughout the day.

Maintaining clinical and office equipment (e.g., suction line maintenance, weekly spore tests, quarterly water line testing, etc).

Taking digital x-rays, scans, and intraoral photos to keep accurate patient records.

Scheduling patients for continuing care.
