Job Summary

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe and effective treatment plans
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Support infection control practices by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention standards
Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix and Dexis for scheduling, documentation review, and record management
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures
Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care for pediatric patients in a compassionate manner
Skilled in dental assisting tasks including medical imaging, and dental x-ray procedures
Ability to assess patient needs effectively through patient care and patient assessment skills
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality
