Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall patient experience. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and oral health screenings.
Provide preventive dental hygiene services, including scaling, root planing, polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with provincial regulations.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
Assess and monitor periodontal health, documenting findings accurately.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment notes.
Assist the dentist in developing individualized treatment plans.
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and sterilization protocols.
Prepare treatment rooms and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment and respond to concerns professionally.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment recommendations and home care instructions.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide high-quality patient care.
Schedule and manage hygiene appointments efficiently while maintaining productivity.
Comply with all provincial regulations, workplace safety standards, and clinic policies.
Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
Experience
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Manitoba
Prior experience working in a dental office setting is preferred but not required
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and patient care
Strong understanding of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
