Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs to ensure safe treatment planning.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while maintaining proper infection control protocols.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice tailored to individual needs.

Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document patient information accurately and efficiently.

Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.

Ensure infection prevention measures are followed diligently through aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.

Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation review, and appointment scheduling in compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.

Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.

Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and documentation.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.

Skilled in chairside assisting, dental equipment operation, and X-ray procedures with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.

Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique.

Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Knowledge of EMR/EHR management systems, medical coding practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements is highly desirable.
