Job Description
Overview
Join our easygoing and friendly dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.
Duties
Perform oral prophylaxis and scaling/root planing
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions, and current periodontal conditions.
Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital dental imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
Perform/assist in chairside procedures by providing support during treatments such as sealants, fluoride applications, and other preventive services.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR)with Eaglesoft documenting all procedures, observations, and patient interactions clearly and thoroughly.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection control.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Support general dentistry practices by assisting with patient care coordination and documentation review as needed.
Experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly while fostering trust.
Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization techniques and adherence to healthcare infection control standards.
Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Ability to work efficiently in a team setting
