Job Description
Christie Clinic's department of Cardiology Diagnostics is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week and benefit eligible) Scheduler at the University clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-12:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include assisting the department by scheduling procedures and appointments, filling in during the absence of the receptionist and assisting with obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Answer phones, schedule appointments, etc.
Triage phone calls as appropriate.
Schedule department specific tests, procedures and surgeries within the clinic and coordinate with outside organizations for scheduling of these tests as needed.
Assist with obtain prior authorizations for cardiac diagnostic testing.
Provide verbal and written instructions for cardiac diagnostic tests.
Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a medical office setting
Experience getting prior authorizations and patient insurance benefits
Microsoft Office experience
Electronic medical record systems experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
None
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity is also required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in the reception area and involves frequent contact with patients. Most contact with patients is via the phone. Typical working hours will be Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm although may be asked to come in early or stay late as needed.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
