Job Description
Senior Clerk (1-Year Term)
Union: MGEU
Position Summary
Within a multi-disciplinary team, Senior Clerks are the first person our patients see upon arrival at their physician’s office. They have a crucial role in representing the Winnipeg Clinic, providing exceptional patient care in a professional and compassionate manner. They also engage in the Clinic’s communication system to provide telephone, switchboard, intercom, two-way radio, and public address service.
Qualifications and Skills
· Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with the general public and other members of the Winnipeg Clinic
· Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
· Excellent organizational/multitasking, communication and interpersonal skills
· 35 WPM typing speed
· A combination of experience and other education may be considered
Primary Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· Greeting patients and registering them for their appointments
· Answering questions and directing patients as needed
· Relay and route written/verbal messages or memos and make outgoing calls as requested
· Perform clerical duties, such as lab/data entry and scanning, sorting/labeling mail and incoming correspondence (faxes)
· General billing/diagnostic coding and inputting of doctor’s billing
· Sanitizing waiting area/high touch areas
· Assisting DA’s in organizing day sheets/pulling charts
· Organize & order stationary/supplies when requested
· Daily checking of tasks & mail in Accuro
· Assist Doctor’s and Doctor Assistants with patient care as needed
· Provide coverage for other Senior Clerks and Switchboard when needed
· Other duties as assigned
