Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring smooth clinical operations.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including dental X-ray imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage patient flow efficiently by verifying patient information in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, updating medical documentation, and ensuring accurate medical coding.
Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures in Spanish, addressing questions about treatment plans, and assisting with patient management software to schedule appointments and follow-ups.
Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.

Qualifications
Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with our diverse patient base.
Proven experience as a dental assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; additional certifications in radiography (dental X-ray) are highly desirable.
Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
