Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Surgical Assistant/Front Desk professional! This role combines the essential duties of supporting oral surgery procedures and providing exceptional front desk patient care. You’ll be the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow, managing medical records, and also assisting with clinical procedures. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and infection control.
Duties
Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out using patient management software.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments following infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures.
Assist Oral Surgeon during procedures such as extractions, Implant placement and biopsies
Manage medical documentation by updating electronic health records (EMR systems), including medical/dental coding, vital signs, and health histories
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-operative instructions, and answer questions regarding dental procedures or equipment
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Oversee front desk operations by scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow efficiently
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar healthcare software is essential for managing medical records effectively
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental instruments, dental x-ray procedures, and infection control protocols is required
Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, sterilization tools, and other clinical devices is advantageous
Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages and backgrounds; experience as a dental receptionist or in healthcare customer service is a plus
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical accuracy and professionalism
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
