This position offers the opportunity to support our teams in both our Scottsdale and Central Phoenix locations.
As a Surgical Assistant, you’ll work side-by-side with our periodontists on advanced gum, tissue, and bone procedures, playing a key role in creating a calm, confident experience for every patient. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who is deeply committed to compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered care.
Compensation & Benefits
Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
401(k) retirement plan with employer Safe Harbor contribution
Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution, and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) available
Complimentary Life insurance
Paid time off and company-paid holidays
Short-term disability, long-term disability, illness and accident policies available
Quarterly bonus opportunities
On-the-job training and opportunities for advancement
Employee assistance program, discounts, referral program, and pet insurance
What You'll Do
Assist during surgical procedures involving gums, tissue, and bone.
Prepare, operate, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
Perform patient screening, charting, and medical history documentation.
Ensure infection control protocols, OSHA safety, and HIPAA compliance standards are followed at all times.
Support efficient clinical workflow by anticipating needs and staying organized and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Follow complex instructions and respond effectively to unexpected changes to the schedule.
Communicate clearly and compassionately —as well as convey sensitive information to patients and colleagues, and respond to inquiries or concerns with professionalism.
Contribute ideas for improving clinical processes and operations.
Manage assigned clinical tasks independently while coordinating with providers and adapting to direction as needed.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience as a dental assistant.
CPR, X-ray, and OSHA certifications (can be obtained after hire).
Familiarity with dental terminology, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a patient-first mindset.
Ability to stay calm, focused, and organized in a busy surgical environment.
A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the whole clinical team.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an interior medical/clinical environment that is well-lit and clean.
Moderate physical activity may be necessary. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards and/or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone is treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. Employment decisions are based on merit, skills, and business needs.
