Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional support during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for our patients. Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental terminology will help us deliver top-tier care across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Responsibilities
Assist during periodontal, implant, surgical, and restorative procedures
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
Take digital radiographs, CBCT scans (if applicable), and impressions
Anticipate the doctor’s needs during surgical procedures
Review medical histories and update records
Provide post‑op instructions and patient support
Maintain inventory and assist with ordering surgical materials
Prepare trays and ensure readiness for same‑day procedures
Communicate with front and back office teams
Build strong, trusting patient relationships
Qualifications
Surgical or periodontal assisting experience is a strong bonus
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting techniques, dental terminology, and anatomy.
Familiarity with Dentrix; experience with dental coding and documentation is a plus.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures in a dental setting.
Certified to perform digital X-ray and CBCT scan procedures safely following radiation safety standards; certification preferred.
Ability to make dental impressions.
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.
