Surgical Receptionist/ Medical Records Custodian
DESCRIPTION
Avicenna Surgery Center is a fast paced multi-specialty facility located near Fordham University in the Bronx. The center is looking for a dedicated, flexible, dependable receptionist that has experience with keeping medical records, credentialing, and clerical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO :
1.Medical Records
Serves as medical records custodian, providing patients, lawyers, physicians, and other facilities with Medical Records as well as receiving Medical Record requests
Handles incoming organizational mail, calls, emails in relation to medical records
Responsible participation in verification of completeness, and filing of patient medical records,
prepares medical records and responds to subpoenas
Surgical Receptionist:
Assisting Office Manager and Front desk Staff as needed
Responsibilities include assisting reception with check in and scheduling, uploading documents
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and Internet use
Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
Proven experience in other similar position
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRES
High School or Equivalent (Required)
Spanish (Preferred)
Bilingual (Preferred)
