Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surgical Registered Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during various surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal clinical outcomes. Your expertise will support the delivery of comprehensive dental care, including complex surgeries such as implants, All on X, extractions, and prosthodontic treatments (including temporary crowns) . Duties
Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by preparing and passing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and managing surgical supplies efficiently.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) including scanning images, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation.
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to monitor patient health before, during, and after procedures.
Maintain infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization of instruments to uphold the highest standards of safety.
Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
Collaborate in four-handed dentistry practices with the dentist for seamless procedure execution while demonstrating knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to surgical care.
Must assist in standing upright position
Must have 3 years of advanced dental assisting experience
Qualifications
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with specialized training in surgical assisting.
Proven experience of three (3) years working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on surgical procedures or general dentistry.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control, aseptic technique, and taking X-rays.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental.
Ability to interpret medical documentation, understand medical coding, and maintain accurate medical records.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty areas like implant surgery or 3D scanner technology.
