Oral Surgery Assistant (Part-Time)
POSITION PURPOSE
East Bay Oral Surgery is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Dr. Keith Gronbach, a highly respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon, in a fast-paced, full-scope surgical practice focused on clinical excellence, patient care, and professional growth.
As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting surgical procedures, assisting with anesthesia monitoring, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience from consultation through recovery. This role is ideal for an experienced dental or oral surgery assistant seeking a flexible part-time schedule while continuing to work in a high-quality surgical environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Surgical Support
Assist the surgeon during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment for procedures
Obtain and record patient vital signs
Assist with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
Ensure consent forms and treatment documentation are completed accurately
Patient Care
Provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after treatment
Deliver clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions
Obtain medical clearances and support treatment planning needs
Create a positive, reassuring experience for patients and their families
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and radiation safety standards
Produce diagnostic radiographs using proper techniques and protocols
Teamwork & Professionalism
Build positive relationships with patients, doctors, and team members
Communicate effectively and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Support practice goals through flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Current CPR Certification
Dental Assisting experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Preferred
Oral Surgery Assisting experience
Experience assisting with IV sedation and anesthesia procedures
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assisting Certification (DAANCE or equivalent preferred)
