Temporary Dental Assistant for Medical Leave Coverage

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a staff member's medical leave. This is a temporary position with duration to be discussed.

Duties
Assist dentist during a wide range of procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines are ready for use
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
Manage patient records accurately with Dentrix
Support patient care by explaining procedures in clear dental terminology.

Maintain aseptic technique throughout all clinical activities to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth clinic operations by handling front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed
Experience
Proven experience working in a dental environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.

Hands-on knowledge of dental assisting techniques.

Proficiency with Dentrix is required
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques to safeguard patient information and health
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral health, and medical terminology for accurate documentation
Current CPR preferred
