Job Overview
We are seeking a Temporary Dental Hygienist to join our dental family for September, October and November of 2026 with possibility of transition to a permanent 2 day per week position. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in dental hygiene, promote oral health, and ensure a positive patient experience. Your attention to patient care will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, dental records, and documenting findings accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) system Eaglesoft.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions with enthusiasm and clarity.
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments.
Support pediatric dentistry cases by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients.
Qualifications
Valid Dental Hygiene license with current state licensure requirements fulfilled.
Proficiency with EMR systems.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
Experience with adult and pediatric dentistry, imaging and documentation review is advantageous.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Familiarity with dental terminology, and dental records management to support accurate documentation.
