Job Description
Overview
Join our team as a temporary dental hygienist until we fill out open full-time position. Hours are flexible to suit your schedule and ours. We are open Monday through Thursday.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral conditions.
Assist with dental procedures by providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in Eaglesoft electronic health record (EHR) system.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric dentistry needs.
Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and safety.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the West Virginia with current CPR certification.
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology.
Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment with compassion and professionalism.
Familiarity with dental assisting techniques, chairside assisting skills, and aseptic techniques essential for effective practice.
