Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. We are in need of a temporary Registered Hygienist for 4 weeks while our current hygienist is out for surgery.
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, AirFlow polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
AirFlow experience is required.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) with our Oryx Dental Software system
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Monday: 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (1 hour lunch)
Tuesday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm (1 hour lunch)
Wednesday: 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (1 hour lunch)
Thursday: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (30 minute lunch)
Friday-Sunday: CLOSED
Requirements
Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements.
Experience in AirFlow machinery for prophylaxis cleanings.
Proven experience in dental office settings, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry preferred.
Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and medical imaging safety.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration - there will be a certified dental assistant to help if need be!
Commitment to HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
We are a private practice with one General Dentist. We also have 5 operatories with 3 dcental assistants and usually 2 hygienists. Our office is only open Monday through Thursday adn we are closed Friday through Sunday. For anythign other than general dentistry, we do refer out to specialty offices.
