Job Description
Our established, patient-centered dental practice is seeking a capable, detail-oriented, and clinically proficient Steri-Technician / Dental Assistant / Clinical Coordinator to provide short-term coverage for a three-week leave of absence.
This role is well-suited to a dental professional who is highly organized, proactive, and grounded in strong clinical and IPAC principles. The successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining clinical flow, supporting the hygiene team, and upholding the highest standards of infection prevention and patient care.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Assisting & Radiography
Provide chairside assisting support as required
Capture and process dental radiographs in accordance with HARP certification standards
Accurately chart clinical findings and maintain thorough documentation
Hygiene & Operatory Support
Ensure efficient and thorough operatory turnover for the hygiene team
Support hygienists in maintaining schedule integrity and clinical flow
Anticipate operatory needs to promote a seamless and productive environment
Sterilization & IPAC Oversight
Perform all instrument reprocessing in strict accordance with IPAC protocols and Public Health Ontario guidelines
Manage workflow across two sterilization centres with consistency and efficiency
Maintain precise sterilization records, including biological monitoring and log tracking
Ensure all operatories and clinical areas consistently meet asepsis standards
Clinical Coordination
Act as a supportive liaison between clinical and hygiene teams
Monitor and assist in managing daily clinical flow
Respond to workflow demands with efficiency and sound judgment
Uphold all practice policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
Qualifications
Certified Dental Assistant (Level II preferred)
Valid HARP certification (required)
Demonstrated knowledge of IPAC standards and sterilization best practices
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Experience supporting a hygiene-driven practice is considered an asset
