Job Overview:
The Unit Secretary provides clerical and receptionist support for the unit and is the communication link of the multidisciplinary team. I
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Role requires comprehension of medical terminology
Scheduling Requirements:
Full Time Night
7pm -7:30am
Rotating Weekends and Holidays
Rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
Answers phones/intercoms in a courteous and timely manner, screens calls and refers messages appropriately
Assists in the flow of department work processes by running errands to other departments as requested
Functions in an emergency as a team member with guidance from supervisory personnel
Maintains adequate supply of clerical materials
Maintains proper order of patient charts as per established guidelines
Performs duties to support the nursing staff
Processes the flow of information on the nursing unit and when appropriate, with outside institutions and individuals as directed
Provides accurate computer data entry of information
Sorts and distributes mail
