Urgently Hiring: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are urgently hiring a dependable, efficient, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our established dental practice in the Union Square area of San Francisco.

Our office serves a diverse patient population in a busy HMO environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable maintaining a productive hygiene schedule while providing thorough, compassionate, and clinically appropriate care. We are seeking someone who communicates well with patients, works collaboratively with the dentist and clinical team, and understands the importance of periodontal diagnosis, patient education, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities
Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis
Complete comprehensive periodontal evaluations and accurately document all clinical findings
Perform scaling and root planing and periodontal-maintenance procedures
Take high-quality digital radiographs
Administer local anesthetic when clinically appropriate and permitted
Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants
Review patients’ medical and dental histories before treatment
Educate patients about oral hygiene, periodontal health, and recommended treatment
Identify clinical concerns and communicate findings clearly to the treating dentist
Support appropriate recall intervals and continuing-care recommendations
Maintain complete and accurate patient records and clinical documentation
Follow all infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, and practice safety requirements
Maintain an organized and efficient schedule without compromising the quality of care
Collaborate with the front- and back-office teams to ensure a smooth patient experience
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted California Registered Dental Hygienist license
Current CPR/BLS certification
Local-anesthesia certification as required under California law
Strong periodontal assessment and clinical documentation skills
Previous experience working in an HMO or high-volume dental practice is preferred
Ability to work efficiently while delivering excellent patient care
Strong communication and patient-education skills
Professional, dependable, organized, and team-oriented
Comfortable treating patients from diverse backgrounds
New graduates with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
Compensation
Compensation is $65–$70 per hour, depending on experience.
