Z Family Dental, a privately owned dental practice in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking a dependable and clinically confident General Dentist for weekend and holiday emergency coverage.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dentist who wants to supplement their weekday schedule with short, predictable 9:00 AM–1:00 PM shifts. You focus on dentistry while our team handles scheduling, billing, collections, and insurance.

Schedule
9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Saturday and/or Sunday
Select holiday coverage
Short, predictable 4-hour shifts
Flexible weekend availability
Compensation
30–35% of collections
Percentage based on experience, clinical skill level, efficiency, and ability to diagnose, treatment plan, and present cases
Strong earning potential within a short 4-hour clinical schedule
No responsibility for insurance claims, billing, or collections
Clinical Responsibilities
Candidates must be comfortable independently diagnosing and treating dental emergencies, including:
Emergency examinations and diagnosis
Dental pain and infections
Simple and surgical extractions
Molar root canal therapy
Anterior and premolar root canal therapy
Restorative emergencies
Fractured teeth and lost restorations
Incision and drainage when indicated
Same-day definitive treatment when appropriate
The ability to perform molar endodontics independently is required for this position.

Implant experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications
Active Florida dental license in good standing
Active DEA registration
Must maintain your own professional malpractice insurance
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience OR completion of a GPR
Must be proficient and comfortable performing molar root canal therapy
Comfortable with simple and surgical extractions
Comfortable working independently
Confident diagnosing and managing acute dental emergencies
Able to efficiently diagnose, treatment plan, and clearly present treatment options to patients
Comfortable providing same-day definitive treatment
Dependable, punctual, professional, and compassionate
Strong clinical documentation and informed-consent practices

Ideal Candidate
This position is particularly well suited for an experienced associate or GPR-trained dentist who already works during the week and wants an additional source of weekend income without committing to another full-time position.

The ideal candidate is a strong general dentist who is comfortable with emergency dentistry, molar endodontics, extractions, same-day treatment, and efficiently presenting appropriate treatment options to patients.
