JOB SUMMARY: The Youth Services Front Office Receptionist is responsible for assisting with the smooth flow of the Youth Services Teen Clinic, supporting the school based sites with administrative functions, and assisting the Youth Services BH team with referrals & scheduling. The Youth Services Front Office Receptionist is responsible for implementing office systems to support WCHC patients within the Youth Services locations (school based sites and Youth Services Teen Clinic). This role helps promote optimal patient experience and assists with the Peer Education Program as needed. Position is located on-site in Sebastopol, California.
Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 10am-6pm, Tuesday: 12:30pm-5:30pm, Friday: 1pm-5:30pm
DUTIES:
Greet patients in the waiting room, navigate them through the check-in process, and ensure a satisfying experience throughout the patient visit.
Maintains professional appearance of waiting room and all patient areas of the Youth Services space.
Implements front office procedures for: scheduling, eligibility, and confirmation calls for both Youth Services Teen Clinic and Youth Services BH providers.
Answers phone, routes calls, and schedules patient appointments
Actively manages schedules by calling patients to remind them of their scheduled office visits
Set up patient charts and create and update EHR charts for each patient.
Escort teens to restroom and instruct in obtaining needed samples.
Perform urine pregnancy test and process specimens for lab tests as needed.
Counsel teens regarding contraceptive options, sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy related issues when appropriate (education will be provided)
Manage Peer Education volunteers within the Youth Services Teen Clinic space.
Administrative patient care support for Gender Services Program.
EXPERIENCE:
Interest or experience in Sexual and Reproduction Health Education desirable.
Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
Customer service experience in an outpatient setting or working with a health clinic desirable.
Computer literacy and familiarity with office machines such as fax, copier, calculator.
Good communications skills
Efficiency working with an EHR (Electronic Health Record) is desired
Basic office and equipment safety knowledge and practice
Demonstrate a positive customer service, patient centered approach at all times.
Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move freely about the office and carry light loads (up to 25 pounds)
Prolonged standing and /or sitting required.
Ability to work with office equipment, including computers
